I have to say that I was bummed to see that I didn’t advance in the Creating with the Stars competition. I really love the way my new woven headboard turned out, and I hoped it would get a few more votes than it did. BUT, my loss is your gain! Now I can share the tutorial for this project (and all its accessories) and the two knockoff projects I was working on too!
Come back next week to see how my dad and I put together this oversized headboard using cheap pine lumber and old vertical blinds. I will also share the quick tutorials for the makeover I did on a 80s bench as well as one of my first successful sewing projects!
Besides being bummed not to be able to keep competing, I am disappointed that I won’t get to work more with my star, Mandi from Vintage Revivals. She has impressive style sense, infectious energy, and serious drive, which made her an awesome influence on me.
I am still going to be following the rest of the CWTS competition, because HOLY CATS are those ladies talented. If there were 12 innovative projects in the first round, I can’t even imagine how cool the eventual finale is going to be!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote! I hope I didn’t let you guys down, and I am going to keep pushing for more great projects right here on Mad in Crafts!
