Yes, you read that right. iPod socks.
When I saw them at Dollar Tree I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but they were too silly not to buy.
There they are in all their ridiculous glory. Samsonite, what were you thinking?
My first thought was to make them into finger puppets for my son. Fortunately, I had him try them on before I got busy beautifying them. He could fit four of his little piggies in one "sock" wihtout stretching the fabric. It looked about as goofy as putting one on my husband's iPod.
Then I remembered seeing this on the Antropologie website. I did a quick Google search for "sweater candle cozy" and found this cute post. I ran down to the basement and found the votives in glass holders that I used with my wedding decorations. The iPod socks fit right over them! YAY!
I am not sure where I am going to put them yet. I might have to store them away till after Christmas decorations have gone the way of the dodo, which makes me a little sad because they are adorable.
Another really random but kind of funny idea I had for them was to use them as shot glass cozies. You know, for those shots that you have to keep warm. :P Don't tell me that idea is any nuttier than making socks for your iPod.
